CROP Walk for Hunger
Registration starts at 8:30. Walk starts at 9:00. The Little Traverse CROP Hunger Walk raises money to alleviate hunger around the world and locally. This is a non-competitive three-mile walk following through Bay View. For those with mobility limitations, there is a one-mile shorter alternative route, as well as an option to rock on the porch of Evelyn Hall while others are walking. Refreshments and live music greet walkers upon their return to Evelyn Hall.
CROP walks support Church World Service, an interdenominational faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster. One quarter of the funds raised by the Little Traverse CROP Walk are given to Harbor Springs-based Manna Food Project to support their efforts to provide better access to food in Emmet, Charlevoix and Antrim counties.
Those who wish to support this effort with a tax-deductible donation may sponsor a CROP walker by giving them a check payable to CWS/CROP, or make an online donation at https://crophungerwalk.org/petoskey, where gifts may be designated to a specific fundraising team (church or organization). Donations are also accepted at registration starting at 8:30 am on the walk day.
