Quick Information for Guests
Bay View is a peaceful, family oriented community and we ask that you respect your neighbors and the overall rules of the community. These policies and rules are enforced by Bay View staff, daily security monitoring, and the police department if necessary. Call 911 in case of an emergency.
- Trash Pickup – Mondays, must be out by 7am in Blue Bags.
- Recycling Pickup – Thursdays, must by out by 7am in recycling containers.
- Bay View maintains a quiet and peaceful environment. Many cottages have open windows without air conditioning and noise travels. Please make every effort to keep noise at a minimum. Quiet hours begin at 10pm and extend until 8am.
- Sunday is regarded as a day of rest. Organized programs, waterfront activities, and activities other than religious services or activities shall not be carried out between 7:00am and noon.
- Open fires are not permitted in Bay View.
- Dogs or other pets shall be allowed on the grounds if they are kept on a leash or confined within an enclosed building or area. They shall be kept in such a manner as not to disturb neighbors. You must clean up after your dog.
- Weapons, Firearms, and Fireworks shall not be used in Bay View. This includes Chinese Lanterns.
- Controlled Substances & Alcoholic Beverages are not permitted anywhere in Bay View except in accordance with the Controlled Substances Act. Alcoholic beverages, smoking, vaping, and the use of the tobacco products are not permitted in any of the public buildings, or on the public grounds of the Association. This includes parks, street right-of-ways, and sidewalks.
- Cottages, buildings, and grounds are to be kept in a neat and sanitary condition.
- The Association has adopted the Uniform Traffic Code of the State of Michigan, as amended, as the traffic regulations governing all streets, lanes, and alleys in Bay View. The posted speed limit of Bay View is 15 miles per hour. Drivers shall take special precautions for children, whether riding bicycles or on foot. Stop signs are to be observed. Gasoline-fueled motorcycles, mopeds, motorbikes or motor scooters are not allowed.
- Renters are encouraged to park within the designated parking spaces on the lot and block of your rental, or adjacent to the street directly in front of or behind your rental. There is an overflow parking lot open for your use by Russell Hall on Water Street.
- Boats, motor homes, trailers, vans, or recreational vehicles containing sleeping accommodations shall not be permitted on the grounds for more than 24 hours per season except at an approved parking area designated by the superintendent.
- No person shall cause any disturbance, noise, or otherwise conduct themselves in such a way to create a breach of peace.
