Bay View Library
A very popular trolley stop, our charming Bay View Library, built in 1931, is one of the largest Chautauqua libraries. The collection is refreshed annually with new and popular adult and children’s titles. Our 2025 book display, “Bay View Origins” celebrates 150 years of tradition. The curation features extensive collections and displays of works by Ernest Hemingway, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, and notable Michigan authors.

June 9 – 13 | Monday – Friday | 10am-1pm |

Sept 2 – 11 | Tuesdays & Thursdays | 10am-1pm |
We now offer temporary lending privileges to:
- People who rent cottages for two weeks or more
- Music Festival students, faculty, and seasonal staff
- Friends or extended family staying with a leaseholding member

Reading Bingo |
An Annual Favorite: a reading challenge for everyone in Bay View to play for cool prizes. Begins Tuesday, June 10, ends Friday, August 8. Pick up your cards at the Library. |
2025 Bay View Library Family Read: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe |
Starts July 7 – ends with a viewing of the classic film and a celebration on July 24. Stop in to the library for details! |

Thursday, July 10 from 9am-12:30pm on the Library lawn. This book sale raises funds for next year’s new titles. |
